Alan McMurtrie: Canadian Bred Iris reticulata hybrids

Date: 7:30pm-10:00pm, May 10, 2017

Picture1.jpgAlan McMurtrie is a retired Electrical Engineer.  He has been an Iris “nut" for close to 40 years.  In 1985 & 86 he went plant collecting in Turkey with a primary goal of finding diploid Iris danfordiae.  As a result of his hybridizing work, he has opened up a whole new world of colours and patterns for Reticulata Iris.  “So far we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg."
