Geir Moen: European Treasures*NOTE FIRST WEDNESDAY OF MONTH

Date: 7:30pm-9:30pm, Sep 4, 2019

Screen_Shot_2019-04-11_at_1.18.00_PM.pngI am Geir Moen living at the countryside about 70 km northeast of Oslo, the capital city of Norway. I have been passionate about plants ever since I was a young child. It all started when my grandmother teached me how to sow and grow annuals, and at an age of 11 saved my pocket money so I could sign up for a membership in the Norwegian Garden Society. Later in life I also got my education as professional gardner. Throughout the years I’ve been growing a huge range of types of plants, from tropicals to alpines. But for the past 25 years alpines has been my main interest and I find propagation especially exciting. In the beginning of my gardening career I wanted to grow EVERYTHING I came across, but these days I’m quite selective and spend more and more time exploring plants in their natural habitat. I’ve also organized several groups to the Carpathians and Maritime Alps, and I will bring my first group to central Tien Shan in Kyrgyzstan in May 2019.

This event is co-sponsored by the North American Rock Garden Society (NARGS)
