This was a self guided tour of 3 areas of Yunnan, the Changshan, Shangri-la and Lijiang. We were there the first 2 weeks of June, about a month before the tours that Harry Yans gives and at the height of Rhododendron season. We saw an enormous number of things in bloom though we were  too early for things such as Nomocharis and Meconopsis. Great plants included a hillside of yellow Daphne calcicola, a mountain of Rhododendron lacteum, clumps of Cypripedium yunannense , one individual of Diapensia himalaica , weedy Stellara chamejasma and one I really want, besides the Daphne, Clematis chrysocoma.  Link to some pics.      http://www.chlorophyllia.com/?p=689&page=6
