PENSTEMON UINTAHENSIS
This little beuaty flowered on our garden on May 8, 2013. It is endemic to the Uinta Mountains in eastern Utah. The lanceolate basal leaves are unusual in a Penstemon and the diminuitive stature. According to Robert Nold in his book "Penstemons" it is sometimes confused with Penstemon utahensis which is a completely different plant.
I planted Penstemon uintahensis in the Spring of 2012 . The plant came from Grahame Ware and his Owl and Stump Rare Plant nursery on Vancouver Island.
