Heronswood was the home, garden and nursery of world-renowned plant explorer Dan Hinkley and his partner Robert Jones. Regarded as a "plant mecca" for avid gardeners and plant enthusiasts worldwide, it is now owned and operated by the Port Gamble S'Klallam Tribe. Join plantsman, and now assistant director of Heronswood, Riz Reyes for an engaging talk and virtual tour of the garden and learn about the current efforts towards preserving the iconic features of Heronswood including a new Traveler's Garden and rock garden that aims to showcase rare indigenous flora that the S'Klallam may have used.
Rizaniño “Riz” Reyes is a Filipino-American horticulturist based in Seattle, WA. He is currently the assistant director of Heronswood Garden in Kingston, WA and the owner of RHR Horticulture, an independent enterprise that encompasses his many interests in rare and unusual plants, garden communication, cut-flower growing, and design.
